About The Firm

Gary Blaylock "Blake" Andrews, Jr. is an attorney who primarily practices employment law, representing both employees and small to mid-size employers in a variety of matters.  Blake specializes in the fields of wage and hour law, employment discrimination and harassment, and collective and class actions.

If you are an employee who has been discriminated against, racially or sexually harassed, denied overtime pay or other compensation due to you, or have some other dispute with your current or former employer, Blake can use his litigation experience to evaluate your case and develop an effective strategy for pursuing your claim and vindicating your rights.

If you are a new business who needs help getting started (e.g., incorporating, applying for non-profit status with the IRS, preparing company policies and procedures, preparing an employee handbook, etc.) or a current business who would like to evaluate your current policies and practices, Blake can help you to identify your business needs and goals and work with you to put your company in the best position to avoid costly disputes with employees and other companies or, in the event litigation arises, to defend against those claims.

Education and Experience
 
Blake received his B.A. from the University of the South, Sewanee, his Masters from the University of Colorado, and his law degree from the University of Virginia.  After graduating law school, Blake began his legal career with the Atlanta office of Troutman Sanders LLP, where Blake was a member of the Complex Litigation team and worked on numerous commerical disputes and class actions.  Blake then served as a federal clerk for the Honorable Charles A. Pannell, United States District Court Judge for the Northern District of Georgia.  During his clerkship, Blake assisted Judge Pannell with all of the employment-related cases on the Judge's docket.  Blake later returned to private practice with the law firm of Littler Mendelson PC, where he focused his practice on wage and hour class and collective actions.  Just prior to starting his own law firm, Blake returned to the public sector and served as a federal clerk for the Honorable Alan J. Baverman, United States Magistrate Court Judge for the Northern District of Georgia.  Blake used his experience in employment law to assist Judge Baverman with various employment cases, including claims involving federal discrimination law and Georgia state law.
